PLASTICS STANDARD SIMULATION

Training Agenda

Lesson Agenda
Introduction: - About This Course | Windows 7 | Use of Colour

Lesson 1: Basic Flow Analysis - The first lesson of this course introduces the available mesh and element types and teaches the user how to set triangle sizes and mesh a model. The user will learn how to use input options to select plastics materials and injection locations, and then how to run, and review the results of the analysis, predicting and displaying the weld lines.

Lesson 2: Detecting a Short Shot - In lesson 2 the user will be taught how to detect a short shot, and how to change the fill settings; including fill time and injection pressure limits, to fix this issue.

Lesson 3: Automation Tools - Lesson 3 introduces the user to the Copy & Duplicate functions and then will show users how to run batch analysis jobs using the batch manager. Finally, the user will learn how to create summary and report files.

Lesson 4: Injection Locations & Sink Marks - Upon successful completion of lesson 4 the user will understand the rules for positioning an injection location and be able to predict, interrogate and minimise sink marks.

Lesson 5: Materials -In this lesson, the user will lean how to create customer materials as well as gain an understand of which material properties are required to run an analysis successfully.

Lesson 6: Mesh Manipulation - Upon completion of lesson 6 the user will be able to find and understand element issues as well as edit the mesh and make repairs.

Lesson 7: Detecting Air Traps - Lesson 7 shows the user how to detect air traps in the mould cavity and how to make changes to a part and re-analyse it.

Prerequisites: SOLIDWORKS Essentials training course

Description:

For plastic part designers, SOLIDWORKS Plastics Standard allows you to simulate the early stages of the injection moulding process to allow you to predict any problems early on helping you to reduce part defects and production lead times. Commonly Plastics Standard is also used as a communication tool to help designers share their thoughts with customers or manufactures.
