Introducing SMAP3D in SOLIDWORKS
View Description

Smap3D Plant design is a complete end to end solution for the design of process plant systems. Starting with a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), to connecting that to a general assembly in SOLIDWORKS to finally creating ISOGEN standard piping isometrics. In this webcast we will demonstrate the process of adding some equipment to an existing system. We start with the P&ID, then feed that information into SOLIDWORKS and finally produce a Piping Isometric at the end. This will be followed by a live Q and A with one of our Elite SOLIDWORKS Certified Engineers. Join us for this complimentary introductory seminar and discover how SOLIDWORKS and Smap3D Plant Design helps those working in the process and plant industry get the right design first time.

All attendees will be able to pose questions throughout. This online event is complimentary and you can take part in our session by using a Mac, PC or a mobile device.

3D CAD First Look: Introduction to SOLIDWORKS
View Description

Join us for a complimentary "First Look" seminar to discover the benefits & capabilities that SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD could bring to your organisation. We start from the basics, creating simple 3D geometry from scratch and using it to generate drawings for manufacturing and client communication automatically. We then move onto the virtual workbench environment, building prototype assemblies, allowing us to check for interferences/misalignments, followed by some virtual testing to ensure the product is fit for purpose. Once we've shown you the rich toolset in SOLIDWORKS, you then have the opportunity to fire questions at one of our Elite SOLIDWORKS Certified Engineers allowing you to pose scenarios to your specific requirements. This event is complimentary, we just ask that you please register to reserve your space as these events fill up quickly. I look forward to meeting you at the seminar.

Battery Design Optimization: Thermal / Fluid Design and Analysis
View Description

Lithium Ion (Li-ion) batteries power modern society, providing the electricity for everything from cardiac pacemakers to electric cars. However, there are still significant design challenges to address, such as improving battery safety and extending its lifetime. The complex interplay of physics, chemistry, and engineering required to successfully integrate a battery in a working system requires an understanding of how they operate at various time and length scales. This webinar will showcase the thermal and fluid analysis capabilities found across the Dassault Systèmes portfolio to design better and safer Li-ion batteries, and will explore: • Introduction to the Battery Development Landscape • The 3DEXPERIENCE Battery Design and Development Solution Overview • Conducting Thermal and Fluid Analysis of Battery Packs and Modules • Industry Case Study

Getting started with CAM software
View Description

With deadlines to produce parts been ever shorter and the need to be able to machine complex geometries been ever greater. Is now the right time to be using your SOLIDWORKS model for manufacturing? In this seminar we will look at how we can start with a SOLIDWORKS model and from that digitally replicate machining that part. From stock material and fixture creation to applying machining toolpaths, simulating them to ensure they will work on your machine and then generate code to run.
Our getting started with SolidCAM will show how 3D geometry can be made into a machined component.
