SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D

TRAINING AGENDA

Lesson Agenda
Introduction: - About This Course | Use of Colour

Lesson 1 – Adding a cabinet - The first lesson of this course introduces the user to Electrical 3D, how it is accessed through SOLIDWORKS mechanical and how it communicates with SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2D. On top of this, laying out the 3D cabinet with rails, ducts and components is also covered.

Lesson 2 – Inserting components in the cabinet - Lesson 2 teaches the user how to insert electrical components into an electrical project assembly, convert standard parts to electrical component and add terminal components to the cabinet assembly.

Lesson 3 – Adding door components - In Lesson 3 the user will be taught to configure smart components and also add as door components. Inserting smart feature in the smart components is also covered.

Lesson 4 – Propagating 2D Changes - In lesson 4 the user is introduced to Electrical schematic 2D, where changes will be made to the multi-line schematic diagrams and the effects will then be shown instantaneously within the 3D.

Lesson 5 – Routing Wires - Upon completion of lesson 5 the user will understand how to create a routing path sketch and why it is critical to the routing of wires and cables. They will also be shown how quickly and effectively they can generate routes using the route wires command.

Lesson 6 – Routing Cables - The final lesson of this course helps the user to route cables within a top level assembly. They will look at how adding cable glands employs SOLIDWORKS to route out of the cabinet to external components and systems.
