Challenge
The ocean’s harsh weather and constant movement make pipeline breaks a constant concern that can cost offshore oil operations up to $1 million per day in lost revenues. Wellstream required SolidWorks to design customised pipelines flexible enough to roll with waves and currents, yet strong enough to contain thousands of gallons of oil and gas, pumped at high pressures.
Solution
