Description
Ark Engineering & Services Ltd are General Engineers / Welder Fabricators working predominately within the portable building industry manufacturing ancillary items for portable buildings, for example, steps, staircases, ramps, and landings as well as our own portable buildings.
We are looking for an experienced design draftsperson to join us on a 6 month temporary contract to cover maternity leave. Prior experience in SOLIDWORKS is essential and experience in this industry would be an advantage. The ability to liaise and create positive working relationships is essential as the role involves regular contact with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
Preferred skill set:
- Competent draughtsperson with 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical and engineering background with the ability to resolve creative and technical problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident at communicating at all levels.
- Self-motivated and reliable.
- Proficient and accurate with a strong attention to detail.
- Good general knowledge of manufacturing techniques for fabrication and sheet metal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing Technical manufacturing drawings and 3D models of our products for both the factory floor operatives and our respective customers.
- Delivering over the phone and in person technical support.
- Occasional site visits to carry out measurements for installation projects for in house manufacture.
- Being an integral part of the project management and procurement process.
- Creating bill of material for projects.
If you are offered an interview, you will be expected to produce examples of your previous design work for our perusal, if possible.
Contract length: 6 months
