An experienced SOLIDWORKS - Design Engineer required to join a successful manufacturing company, based in Historic town of Helston, South Cornwall.

Attention to detail, and project management skills are key, whilst ensuring their designs are meeting client and project expectations within industry compliance.
Design Engineers will report to the Design Manager, and will be trained to manage a range of exciting projects from concept to completion. They will work within the main manufacturing site to aid the sale and design process, through to fabrication for hand over onto installation.
As such high level of Joinery design / CAD experience with these systems is essential, including Hardware fitment, Weldments, Smart modelling Fabrication of Joinery detailing skills ( Generally cladding of/over Metal subframes )
The Role:
- CAD Staircase Joinery drawings and detailed fabrication packs in Solidworks 2020 according to company standards, information supplied from Client and Site surveys.
- Client facing role, Must be fluent in English, comfortable in all project communications using Teams, Email and Telephone.
- Working knowledge of timber material and hardware suppliers in order to produce designs that satisfy guidance set by Sales specifications & Company standards.
- Willing to undertake training to work within Industry regulatory requirements for Designing at Iso 9001 Exe 2 and BS design standards.
The successful candidate will be a professional in Joinery Detailing and a proven CAD operative in SOLIDWORKS 2020, with some light 2D Autocad duties.
Essential Knowledge Requirements:
- SOLDIWORKS 5 years Minimum: (v2020)
- AutoCad 5 years Minimum: Only used for CNC Dxf outputs & Site/Client survey data.
- Experienced 3D Joinery / CAD Detailer ( Joinery based )
- Must have a meticulous, disciplined approach and work to a high level of accuracy.
- Joinery Hardware Integration & Materials Knowledge & Design for Manufacturing.
Desirable:
- Fabrication knowledge ( Metal / Joinery )
- Experience working with third party manufacturers sub-con and support services
- Familiar with working in larger project teams and maintaining ownership of designs beyond sign-off stage to ensure continuity and consistency of design principles.
