Description
The Design Engineer works within the Pneumatics division and is responsible for interpreting customer requirements into appropriate and cost effective designs that can be fabricated by the workshop team and which support lean manufacturing processes. The job holder is required to ensure the smooth development throughout the design process through to product completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To ensure full understanding of the customer requirements, providing expert advice and guidance, so that accurate designs and drawings can be agreed
2. To produce relevant and detailed technical drawings and 3D models for each project that use the most efficient and cost effective methods
3. To ensure the timely and relevant sourcing of non-stock items so that the right parts are available on site for fabrication
4. Responsible for the timely completion of all related administration
5. Responsible for the supervision, welfare and appropriate training of the Junior Design engineer
6. To ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety
7. To ensure equality and diversity is actively promoted in the workplace
8. To work as part of the wider Priden team, supporting other colleagues and undertaking additional duties as required
9. Any other duty as directed by the Director
