A successful manufacturing company, based in Historic town of Helston, South Cornwall is looking for the next generation of Designers/Design Engineers.

The company is Iso 9001 Exe2 certified, allowing the most prestigious of UK projects to be designed, built and installed.
Design Juniors will report to their assigned Design Engineers, and will be trained to manage a range of exciting projects from concept to completion by the Design Manager/Team Leaders. They will work within the main manufacturing site to aid the sale and design process, through to fabrication for hand over onto installation teams. Or Help Design Engineers on component modelling and smart CAD technologies.
Willingness to learn attention to detail, and project management skills are key, whilst ensuring their design competence is growing towards meeting client and project expectations within industry compliance. Full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable about CAD and ideally interested in learning 3d software - Solidworks 2020 supporting a small articulate team of 4-6 CAD technicians, with some 2D Autocad duties.
As such good level interest in learning CAD systems is essential, including training in Weldments, Smart modelling, Fabrication Metal & Joinery detailing skills.
The Role:
- General CAD Office duties – printing / drafting / modelling
- Support Design Engineers by learning CAD for Staircase design packs in Solidworks 2020
- Willingness to learn Company standards
- Competence in reading information supplied from Client and Site surveys.
- Willingness to learn Client facing skills, Must be fluent in English, comfortable in all forms of communication using Teams, Email and Telephone.
- Happy to learn about internal suppliers and external supply chains in order to support live designs projects, creation of Sales renders and basic modelling.
- Willing longterm to undertake training towards a career in design within Industry regulatory / Company design standards.
Essential Knowledge Requirements:
- Interest in 3d CAD Solidworks: (See: Youtube for tutorials v2020)
- Interest in 2d AutoCad 6 months.
- Interest in Design & Planning
- Willing to learn about Fabrication and Detailing for Metalwork and Joinery
- Must have a can-do attitude, and positive approach to learning computer skills.
- Minimum GSCEs: English, Maths, Sciences
