What is Extended Reality(XR)?

Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 9:51am

Extended Reality is a new and exciting development that sits within the existing SOLIDWORKS products, allowing you to interact with your 3D models like never before.

We have created a miniseries of 5 minute videos to introduce and explore the topic. Parts 1 to 3 are now available below, more parts will be added soon!

1. What is XR?

This video will explore what exactly is XR and how it can benefit the design process. It aims to answer this simple question "Why, when we spend hours perfecting our designs in 3D CAD, do we view it in 2D?".

2. SOLIDWORKS XR Exporter

The second video in this series explains how to export XR files and introduces some of the methods for viewing and using XR files.
